LISTEN TO THE FULL EPISODE
Today we’re going to be talking about a really important lesson. It’s a lesson that you’ve probably heard before, but the reality is most entrepreneurs aren’t living up to this lesson. The lesson is what it means to be working ON your business versus working IN your business. This is something that we always need to be thinking about as entrepreneurs.
Chances are that you’re really proficient at what you do, which makes it really hard to transition away from working in your business. I’ll go through why you need to be intentional about this, why you need to always be learning, and the need for a team.
Being intentional is about intentionally scheduling time in your life for working on the business. I’ve set aside some time next week to do this myself, so I’m going to share exactly what my schedule is going to consist of.
As an entrepreneur, you’ll never get to the top of the mountain. Every time you think you’re there, you’ll look up and find a new set of challenges. Still, one of the things I know is that I’ll have a more successful business if I learn more. You better embrace that you need to always be learning.
You need a team – I talk about this over and over again. If you’re the only person working in your business, you don’t have time to work on your business. It’s that simple. As long as you haven’t built a team, you’ll spend the vast majority of your time working in your business on low-value tasks. A team will take those tasks off your plate.
